Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

To help our guests understand the reservation process and policies in place at The Inn at UCLA, we have compiled a short list of important things to know. If you have any questions, please feel free to send us a message, email us directly at theinn@ha.ucla.edu, or call us at (310) 825-2923.

How do I cancel my reservation

Reservations must be canceled by 3 p.m. the day before arrival to avoid a one-night room charge. Please contact us at theinn@ha.ucla.edu or 310-825-2923 and we’ll take care of it.

What are your check-in and check-out times

Guests may check in after 3 p.m. The registration desk is open 24 hours a day for late arrivals. Please alert us if you anticipate arriving later than 2 a.m.

Check out time is 12 p.m. If you need a short extension, please notify the front desk the morning of your departure and we will accommodate your request, if possible. For your convenience, the front desk can also store your luggage until your departure.

I love that you have a laundry room! What are hours of use

The laundry room is open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

How long can I stay

The maximum length of stay is 29 consecutive days.

How many people can be accommodated in a single room

A maximum of three people per room is allowed.

Do you have parking

Self-parking is available at The Inn at UCLA for a daily fee, on a first-come, first-served basis. Additional parking is available one block north of our location in Parking Structure 3. Before proceeding, please see the front desk for assistance and directions.

May I bring my pet with me

Pets are not allowed at The Inn at UCLA. Assistance animals are always welcome. Our sister hotel, the UCLA Luskin Conference Center and Hotel, accommodates guests traveling with well-behaved dogs (up to two dogs per room).

What methods of payment are accepted

All reservations must be guaranteed with a major credit card or a UC departmental recharge code. Cash is not accepted. Checks made payable to the UC Regents may be used as an advance deposit only. Such checks must be received no less than 30 days before arrival date. The check must be pre-printed with a street address — P.O. boxes are not acceptable. Any advance deposit exceeding the final bill will be refunded by check and may take up to 90 days for reimbursement.

The Inn at UCLA does not accept "ghost" credit cards as our system does not provide authorization for these types of cards.

Do you have rollaway beds

We offer rollaway beds at $30/night (subject to availability) for rooms with a queen bed or rooms with a queen bed and a kitchenette. Rooms with a queen and twin bed may not have a rollaway bed in the room. Rollaway beds are limited and available on a first-come-first-served basis.

May I smoke

No smoking is permitted. The Inn at UCLA and the entire UCLA campus are smoke-free. Smoking, vaping and/or tobacco use are not allowed in any facility or space on the campus, including our guest rooms or any outdoor areas.

Where can I learn more about guest services

Can you tell me more about food and drink service at The Inn at UCLA

We offer a variety of pastries, assorted meats and cheeses, granola, oatmeal, fruit, coffee, tea, and juices In the lobby from 6:30 - 9:30 a.m. Coffee and hot water are available in the lobby 24 hours a day.

Where can I find a newspaper

Several newspapers are provided each morning, including the Los Angeles Times, the Wall Street Journal and the UCLA Daily Bruin.

Do you have Wi-Fi and computers for guests to use

Complimentary Internet is available in each guest room and throughout the property. Guests may also use the computers and printer in the business center, located across from the front desk.

Can guests send or receive faxes

The front desk can send and receive faxes at no charge. The fax number for The Inn at UCLA is 310-825-6108.

Where is the closest convenience store

There is a convenience store located on the underground level of the Lu Valle Commons eatery across the street from the Guest House. The store offers a variety of snacks, magazines, office supplies, books, sundries and souvenirs.

What kind of electrical outlets do you have there

The Guest House uses 110-volt electricity, which is standard in the United States. Travelers from other countries should use an appropriate converter to avoid damaging their electrical appliances.

Do you have amenities for guests who are deaf or heard of hearing

A variety of visual alert systems and equipment, including a knock alert, TeleCaption decoder, alarm clock, bed vibrator, visual smoke detector, telephone alert unit, TDD text telephone and telephone amplifier are available and can be borrowed from the front desk for the hearing impaired. All televisions have built in TeleCaption devices.

Where can I get my clothes cleaned

Guests may access a washer and dryer in Room 250, located just outside the elevator on the second level, using the WASH-Connect digital mobile app. Detergent is available free of charge. Hours are 8 a.m. – 9 p.m. daily. The front desk can supply a list of dry cleaners in nearby Westwood Village.

What are some of the local businesses that are close by

Please see the front desk for information about local restaurants, ATMs and banks, churches, dry cleaners, florists, and more.

Can guests send and receive mail during their stay

Mail is sent out Monday through Friday from the front desk. You may leave outgoing mail with the front desk staff. Incoming messages and packages will be held at the front desk, and you will be alerted by the red light on your room telephone if you have a message. Simply call the front desk to retrieve your message.

What should I do if I have an immediate housekeeping or maintenance issue

If you notice any housekeeping or maintenance concerns in your room, come to the front desk—we're here to help!

What should I do if I don’t want to be disturbed while I’m in my room

If you do not wish to be disturbed by Housekeeping, please place the “Privacy Please” door hanger on your room door.

Where are some good places to eat

We encourage you to book a reservation at the award-winning Plateia restaurant, located in the UCLA Luskin Hotel and Conference Center and Hotel. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served daily. Off-campus restaurant recommendations are available by contacting the front desk.

What kinds of amenities can I expect in my room

Each guest room has essential toiletries, a hair dryer, iron and ironing board, and AM/FM clock radio. The front desk can provide you with a toothbrush, toothpaste, razor, shaving cream or sewing kit, if needed.

Do you have safety deposit boxes

Safe deposit boxes are available at the front desk, free of charge. Please do not leave valuables in your room, as we cannot be held responsible for loss or theft of personal property. California law pertaining to safe deposit boxes is found on the information card located on the back of your room door.

Is there a safety escort service

The UCLA Office of Community Safety offers free safety escorts if you need to walk to the hospital, around campus, or to and from parking areas between dusk and 1 a.m. Please call 310-794-WALK (9255) at least 20 minutes prior to needing an escort. Dial 49255 from your room phone.

What kind of programming is available on the TV in my room

The Inn at UCLA uses the campus cable TV system. You may notice that many messages on your television are designed for students and may not pertain to you as a campus visitor. A list of television channels can be found on display in your room.

Where can I find vending and ice machines

There are vending machines and an ice machine on the second floor near the elevator.
